RICA law requires all cellular network subscribers with new or existing cell phone numbers to register their SIM cards with their personal information. Your sim card will only be activated once the RICA process has been completed.
Serial Number
You will need to provide your sim card’s serial number.
The serial number is the barcode at the back of your sim card
Identification
A photo of your ID/passport/asylum
Take a full photo of your ID/passport/asylum
Make sure the photo is clear and that no corners are cut out
The photo must be of your original document, no copies will be allowed
Your document must be valid (not expired)
Selfie
A selfie of you holding your ID document next to your face
This is required so that we know that the ID provided does indeed belong to you.
Make sure that the photo is clear and close enough.
Proof of residence
A photo of your proof of residence document not older than 3 months
Any one of these documents will be accepted as proof of residence:
Utility bill; i.e. water, electricity or rates
Bank statement
Rental or lease agreement
Any retail store account
A telephone account, landline or cellular
TV License
Insurance policy
Affidavit
Your proof of residence document should not be older than 3 months.
